1.
I'll sigh content
If you let me be,
The sapling under
your banyan tree..
2.
Let the memory remain
after the pain
of the plight
for memories be
your only warmth
on a cold cold night..

Hi there, it is so nice to find you again. Why so sad?

ReplyDelete'Sad' is the general state of mind nowadays..
ReplyDeleteGlad you came back here too.
Sit then under said tree until you have become well rooted. You will find the Banyan shares both shade and water with ease. It is effortless to cast away sorrow and work to hold it. I am a lazy sapling and will go with the effortless.
ReplyDeletethe two verses seem to be in opposition...under the banyan inclusion...the memory the loss...or perhaps it is only memory that grows under the banyan tree...nice one shot
ReplyDeleteI really like your style.
ReplyDeleteNice, short and to the point!
great One Shot :)

Such a change from stanza 1 to 2. As if a lesson learned between, and it will not be the former sap(ling) reliant on the warmth of recollection. As Gabriela stated, like your style. cheers
ReplyDeleteA nice duet of poems for One Shot!
ReplyDeleteI love the transition. Sad that the emptiness is the end stanza
ReplyDeleteMoon thanks for One Shot
Brian,
ReplyDeletethanks a lot for the encouraging words.
Gabriela,
Thank you for your kind words
(I know this out of context but you have a beautiful name)
Dustus,
Thanks a ton
Eric,
I am glad you liked it.
Moondustwriter,
I just gave this a shot not knowing that someone will actually stop by..thanks
I think our poems this week have much in common. I was writing about a young woman, to free and easy with her body was used and abandoned, but couldn't stop reaching out and hoping that she'd find love. I think there is always pain when love fails especially if it's only a one-sided love. Thanks for posting. You got the job done in far fewer words than I did. :) Gay @beachanny
ReplyDeleteBeachanny,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. I really appreciate it. Few words or lots
If we drive the point across
its good :)
Beautiful... memories be the warmth... liked it..
