I had not known that I would pay
for dreaming up a dream..
Now barren - bereft for dreams have died
and I am as empty....

I am - and - I was/ I feel - and yet - I lost/ I am - in deep/ and yet I float/ In debt and yet/ - I hope..
there is always a cost to our dreams...
ReplyDeletedreams are for the sleeping, doing is what the awake do. Sleep? or Awake?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Brian. There is a cost, and I also believe there is disappointments because dreams always make us expect much more than what there really is.
ReplyDeleteAlways some sort of cost, as said, but sometimes it can be an added benefit. Although expectations are usually higher than the reality.
ReplyDeleteAh! I hear where you are going with this and I like it. It spoke to me with its opening line. A nice write. Be nice it you would further develop it.
ReplyDeleteyep - also agree with bri - there is a cost to our dreams...and sometimes we are more than willing to pay.. enjoyed your poem budhaaah
ReplyDeleteDreams are worth the dreaming, but the aftermath is waking up.
ReplyDeleteOUCH!! But do dreams ever really die? I have a feeling they go into hibernation and come back when we least expect them..
ReplyDeleteBut I hear ya, Budhaaah.. I totally do! There is a price to be paid for dreaming up those dreams alright.. *sigh*
The cost of the lesson is the purpose of the dream, I found this to be profound in its simplicity. Wonderful write ~ Rose
