There is a fultility to my love
but burn I must
and then my sweet
your caress heals
as lips seal
my wound
Oh why do I
wake up ever
from this dream
There's a futility to love/loving
so beautiful and yet..
My shot for 'one shot wednesday' a platform for poets and aspiring poets

there are times when a single line in a poem jumps out like a flame and burns you...
ReplyDeleteand in this case it is literal...
"but burn i must"
one line says it all.
beautiful.
Lovely poem. It depicts love in a way we can all relate.
ReplyDeleteAlso read your One Shoot Sunday. That was awesome. Nice writing.
you know that is exquisite...why do we ever wake up...i dont know...
ReplyDeleteJoanne,
ReplyDeleteThank you so much
Myrna,
Hey thanks a ton. I was aprehensive about this one though..
Brian,
Thank you. You do see that I still didnt get the hang of the link thing :)
We always return to that fire. Nice One Shot!
ReplyDeleteNice exercise in pointlessness about exercises in futility. The pointless structure/inherence of the work structures love's futility - more effective than mere irony.
ReplyDeleteSome realities are like waking up from a dream. Well done.
ReplyDeleteA great read@ I gotta say, nothing's truer than a line in a song "burn, baby, burn" and no matter the singe or the char we all continue to do so.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for visiting and commenting :)
ReplyDeletethank you! great imagery... as a current burning muster thinking it might just all be futile.. well, you nailed it! ;-)

ReplyDeleteHi joseph,
ReplyDeleteWell burn we must to ashes if not satisfied :)
Shashi,
Without fulfillment after a while one stops dreaming
Dreams without passion become hollow... so burn we must.
